Able students have students have the potential or capability to develop expertise in one or more areas of learning or performance.

Gifted students have the ability to excel academically in one or more subjects such as English, Maths, Science and Information Technology.

Talented are described as having the ability to excel in practical skills such as Sport, leadership or artistic performance.

At the heart of our Gifted Talented and Able programme is quality teaching which aims to develop positive behaviours for learning including thinking, questioning, confidence and independence for all our students.

The principles that underpin our Gifted Talented and Able programme are:

  • Gifted Talented and Able students need specific educational provision to meet their learning needs
  • The development of provision for Gifted Talented and Able will improve the provision for all students
  • Provision for Gifted Talented and Able students should be rooted in the notion of developing expertise

Developing experts in subjects is being developed here.
