Curtain Call for MBA Performing Arts Students

Drama students at MBA are experiencing the inner workings of a professional theatre thanks to a partnership with the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham.

The Academy has teamed up with the theatre to offer eight Sixth Form students the experience as part of their BTEC Performing Arts Course. The students attend workshops every Friday to offer them the chance to see firsthand professional rehearsals and learn about different roles and departments in the theatre including lighting directors, directors, the box office and finance department.

Creative director, Paul Milton said: “These are students who have shown an interest in performing arts and we wanted to give them some professional input. We are hopefully training up the next generation of theatre practitioners and getting them out of the classroom”.

Jenny Cameron, Head of Performing Arts at Millbrook said: “We are really grateful for the opportunity given to us by the Everyman Theatre. For those who want to study drama at university or drama school this will give them a depth of experience.”
