Dressing up to promote literacy and reading

With International Literacy Day and Roald Dahl day all falling within the same week, staff at Millbrook Academy dressed up as book characters to promote literacy and reading within the Academy. There were some amazing outfits from oompa loompas, witches, Mr Fox and a horrid farmer to a very sad Miss Havisham on reception.

Year 7 and 8 students were learning how to write revolting rhymes in true Roald Dahl style. Humpty Dumpty was the focus for Year 9s who were analysing what Humpty Dumpty had to do with war and Year 11s were developing their communication skills by debating.
