Three 6th form Art students from Millbrook academy have been creating a mural for Brockworth Primary Academy; which links to maths and numeracy. They were asked to create a maths mural for the reception area of the primary school and it needed to link to the existing race track on the floor of the outside area, whilst being educational. Angharad Phillips, Kelly Davies and Connor Cookes, from Millbrook, decided to create a colourful cityscape which included interesting windows and features that linked directly to maths, including; shape, time, number and measure. The mural has lots of interactive features such as a chalk board area, patterned shapes, spinning clock hands, interactive calculator and a measuring ruler. The 6th form students have spent 2 terms on the mural and it was presented to Brockworth Primary Academy on Wednesday 17 April.
