The Millbrook Academy Chess Championship was held today at lunchtime in the library.

"The game of chess has been described as an art, a science and a sport".

If you think it`s just a game, remember that some top chess champions earn millions!
Here at Millbrook Academy, we have been running a successful lunchtime chess club with both experienced and beginner players taking part. During term 3 we held a lunchtime chess tournament for our many keen players.

28 competitors started at the beginning of the competition, playing over 5 weeks. They played many challenging games, leading to the nail-biting final being held on the 10 February between Kieran Mees 7AC and Ethan Noble 7DP.

Both students played well, with Ethan winning the final game.
