Six students from Millbrook Academy are going to be involved in the touring production of An Inspector Calls at the Everyman in Cheltenham at the end of September. The production was originally performed at the National Theatre and is now touring the country this year.

As well as the main characters, who are played by professional actors, the production features a small ensemble who are crucial to the action. The Everyman asked for local performers to take part, and four of the sixth form students from Millbrook successfully applied. They are Callum Newman, Nathan Harter, Millie Sanyama & Kirsten Boardman.

In addition, the Head of Performing Arts was contacted by the production's director as they needed two younger performers to play two of the three children featured in the play. Consequently, two year 8 students - Luca Gilbert-Cresswell and Poppy Warren have also been cast. Millbrook Academy has a thriving Performing Arts department with close links to the Everyman theatre.

Head of Performing Arts, Jenny Cameron said.

“This is a really exciting opportunity for all six of the students who will work with professional actors and directors and will perform the play 8 times between Tuesday 29 September and Saturday 3 October. We are very proud of the students and thank the Everyman for their continued support of the Academy”.

Tickets are available from The Everyman Theatre.
