MBA Students Work With The Songwriting Charity

posted 20 Oct 2015, 00:54 by Kate Hunt
A group of 30 students from years 8 and 9 have recently begun a really exciting project which is being run at Millbrook Academy by The Songwriting Charity.

The aim of the project is that the students will create some original songs which will be developed and rehearsed and then recorded and performed live. Within two sessions, the beginnings of a song have been created and the group is now working on developing it further. So far, students have learned about using major and minor keys to create an effect, about different rhythms and the importance of pace and volume.

The group is working with Ben O'Sullivan from the Songwriting charity each week and so far, everyone has approached the project with a great deal of enthusiasm and we are looking forward to seeing how it develops.
