Experienced Local Head Takes Interim Charge at Millbrook Academy

Following Jan Scott's decision to retire as Principal of Millbrook Academy we are delighted to confirm that a very experienced local head teacher has taken up the post of Interim Principal at the Millbrook Academy from Monday 2 March.

Mr Roger Gilbert has worked in education for over 30 years and for the past decade has been Principal at Yate International Academy, previously King Edmund Community School until 2009.

He said: "I am very grateful for the opportunity to provide leadership for Millbrook Academy at this period of transition. I am really looking forward to working with the whole academy community in providing the very best experiences and outcomes we can for all students."

Mrs Scott added: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Millbrook Academy and will miss working with the staff, students and the wider community. It has been a privilege to watch the children grow and fulfil their potential."

A new leader to take up the permanent post of Principal of Millbrook Academy from September 2015 will be recruited shortly.
