We are very grateful to the Cheltenham North Rotary Club who visited the Academy on Monday 22 February to present a collection of "Manga Books" and a "Chess Shield" that they have kindly purchased for Millbrook.

The Manga books are written by Japanese authors." Manga" is an old Japanese word meaning "whimsical images" and the comic type fiction books reflect these drawings. The text reads from right to left and books are read from the right hand side of the page!

These are extremely popular with our older students and the books come in a range of genre, from sci-fi to romance and horror! Some of the series have age restrictions and these are detailed on the front covers.

The chess shield was presented to James Griggs who became the chess tournament winner on Tuesday 23 February after a close fought final. Tyler Parry was a close runner up with both students playing extremely well.

Once again we thank the Cheltenham North Rotary Club for their ongoing support.
