Millbrook Academy vs Gloucester Academy

On Thursday 16 October, Millbrook faced Gloucester Academy. It was a very close game with the final score being 22-20 to Millbrook.

The match was very aggressive yet entertaining with plenty of tries and tackles. Both teams played well and put on a good performance. The tries were scored by Ross T, Ryan M, George B and Jack H.

Gloucester’s best player really stood out from the rest of the tem and scored two of their three tries. He was very strong and took out most of our team although we held him back to win the match. A fantastic joint tackle by Jack and Ben and then individual tackles each of them stock Gloucester in their tracks. We did very well in our rucking and the team improved massively in that game! Thank you to Mr Foran and Mr Day. It was such a great game and has improved our confidence as a squad. I hope we can carry out food form to the next game.

Ben Davies and Jack Fairs.

The first 10 minutes were evenly matched. Josh Gilkes gathered pace and managed to get the first two tries. In the second half Gloucester Academy scored a try due to missed tackles on our behalf, although we quickly got one back as we secured a penalty which Ryan managed to put down over the line. Gloucester didn’t give up and they managed to score another try due to more missed tackles. Finally Alfie Williams wrapped up the score with the forwards holding our own to leave the score 22-10 to MBA.
