They swam, they ran, they dressed up and they took on the Dream Team, all for a good cause.

Throughout the week, energetic students and staff at Millbrook Academy took part in various events to raise funds for Sports Relief 2014.

On Monday staff from the netball ‘Dream Team’ challenged students from different year groups to netball matches.

On Tuesday a swimathon took place, the goal was to swim enough lengths to cross the Channel. Staff and students completed an incredible 1511 lengths, 23.47 miles. Enough miles to cross the Channel and a little extra!!

On Wednesday the badminton challenge took place at lunchtime with staff pairs taking on students. Competition was fierce but the staff championed yet again!

Friday was a busy day with a 5-a-side football competition taking place with teams from every year group and a staff team. There was also a treadmill challenge where staff and students ran on three treadmills to see how many miles they could ecru. Students ditched the uniform for a day and dressed in sportswear to raise additional funds.

Head of PE, Sarah Cuke said. “Well done and thank you to everyone at who took part, it was great to see such team spirit and competitiveness between staff and students2.

Millbrook Academy have so far raised £426.19 with funds still being counted.
