Students Performance of Happy Ending

Year 12 and 13 BTEC L3 Performing Arts students have spent this term working with professional vocal coach Caroline Mander, working towards the Singing Skills unit which is an optional part of the BTEC qualification they are all studying for.

Caroline, along with accompanist Lucas Bailey, ran weekly workshops with the group, building their performance skills and repertoire. To complete the project, the 6th form group performed a short concert in The Mill for an audience made up of nearly 200 Year 7 and 8 students. The performance consisted of a number of pieces, including a medley of songs from Oliver!, a Michael Jackson medley and Mika's Happy Ending. The programme finished with a beautiful version of Silent Night.

Audience feedback was glowing, and we were thrilled to have been joined by Ben O'Sullivan from The Songwriting Charity, who commented on how wonderful it was to see a mixed group of older students showing the younger children "how it should be done". Well done to all involved, and thank you to Caroline and Lucas for all their hard work.
