Y9 students took part in the Young Enterprise county Tenner Challenge – with each student given £10 to make more than this back.

One team developed Crazy Cakes – Sugar free cup cakes with cazy faces on them. The other team developed VDP = Vegan Diet Plan – a diet that supports a healthy lifestyle and protection of animals at the same time.

“I thought that it was an interesting morning – it was good working in a team and having an open ended problem to solve” – David Phillips

“It was interesting to talk to people who ran their own businesses to find out what it is like. I enjoyed the freedom to come up with our own ideas” – Destiny Summer

The VPD team came runners up – theirs was the most innovative and original idea but the judges would have liked more detail on packaging and how the products would have worked. Congratulations to Destiny Summer, Chloe Embrey, Emelia Earnshaw, Philippa Bing, Paige Tucker. The students were superb and a credit to themselves and the school. None of them wanted to stand up and present their ideas – but they all did!
