The Curriculum
All Year 7 Students will study the following subjects:

Year 7 students also have additional tutorial time and undertake a structural programme of ‘Accelerated Reader’.
In Year 8 and 9 separate lessons of Geography, History and General Studies replace Humanities. Some Year 9 students will also have the opportunity to study German.
At Millbrook Academy the curriculum in Years 10 and 11 provides students with a broad educational experience upon which to base future decisions.
Year 9 Options
The Year 9 Options Evening will be held on Thursday 17th January 2013 from 7:00pm to 8:30pm
Now is the time for students to decide which subjects they will study over the next two years. English, Mathematics, Science, General Studies and Physical Education form our core curriculum and all students must take these subjects. In addition, students are able to complete their course of study by choosing from a range of subjects, all of which are in the Options Booklet. We encourage students to talk to tutors, teachers, learning leaders and parents before making decisions. We also ask you to attend the Options Evening.
All students will have received a KS4 Options Booklet which they should read and with advice from teachers and parents, choose which subjects to take. They will have also received Options Forms that should be completed and returned by 21st January 2013.
In designing our curriculum for Key Stage 4 we have endeavoured to provide a range of courses to suit all students, allowing everyone to achieve both success and satisfaction.
