Millbrook Academy Awards Scheme

Why an Award Scheme?

We would like students to discover and make the most of their talents. Many opportunities will be provided for them to do so. We would like them to take part in as many activities as possible and for them to give themselves the best chance of success. We want to recognise, reward and celebrate their achievements. The Award Scheme exists for these reasons.

What Awards are there?

Bronze

Students will require 8 achievements from at least 4 categories.

Silver

Students will require 12 achievements from at least 6 categories.

Gold

Students will require 16 achievements from at least 7 categories.

Platinum

Students achieving, and significantly exceeding the Gold Award, will be nominated for this Award. A staff panel will decide winners.

How is the Award Scheme organised?

The scheme runs from September until the end of the Spring half-term (when records of achievement are being compiled). Each half-term tutors will prompt students to check their achievements.

How do I have my achievements recognised?

Students should ask the appropriate person to date and sign their achievements. Their tutor and then their Head of College will sign and date their award.

What happens when they gain an Award?

Students will be awarded a certificate. Their achievements and awards gained will be included in their end of year Record of Achievement or Progress File. All Bronze winners will be entered into the 'Achievement Draw'.
